Like a Ghost

Inspired by Neil Young's comment at farm aid (at the end of Old Man youTube) about how climate change is moving around showing its face from place to place like a ghost.

It’s blowing in the winds
Running down the river
It's all our selfish sins
Were never meant to hurt her
It's trouble from the rain
And hurricanes that blow
Will it ever be the same
With all the seeds we sow

Like a ghost, like a ghost
A haunting prophesy
Like a ghost, like a ghost
You can feel but never see

It's heating like a stove
So over stoked with wood
Can't shut the fire down
But knowing that you should
Point at the other guy
Him and his bad habit
And tell each other lies
Acting like you get it

Like a ghost, like a ghost
A haunting prophesy
Like a ghost, like a ghost
You can feel but never see

Woke him up from a sleep
A ghost of the past life
He was oil in the deep
Now he’s driving out of sight
Leaves a trail no one sees
Burns and fuels blue sky
With ancient energy
Maybe that’s a reason why

Thanksgiving is like summer
It’s green on Christmas day
Really makes you wonder
Is there the will and way
To turn this thing around
Get off the treading mill
To follow something found
Or pay the final bill

Like a ghost, like a ghost
A haunting prophesy
Like a ghost, like a ghost
You can feel but never see

Tar sands spewing more
Than all the cars across this land
Past time that the children
Lent their Mother earth a hand
Raise your heads up to the sky
Can you hear the howling beast
Open up your eyes
The Wendigo has been released

Like a ghost, like a ghost
A haunting prophesy
Like a ghost, like a ghost
You can feel but never see
